An Intense Spiritual Preparation

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate Allah with these words:

“O Allah! Bless us in Rajab and Sha’ban and allow us to reach the month of Ramadan.”

The Sahabah (Companions) would also supplicate long before Ramadan’s arrival:

“Allahumma balighna Ramadan” (O Allah, allow us to reach Ramadan).

Once Ramadan had passed, they would ask Allah to accept their deeds and would pray for six months for their actions to be accepted, and for another six months to be granted the blessing of reaching the next Ramadan. Their preparation and anticipation were filled with spirituality and a deep desire for excellence in worship.

Where Do We Stand?

Are we truly aware of the significance of this month even before it begins? How much importance do we give it in our daily lives?

Ramadan should not be just a temporary month of worship, but an opportunity to strengthen our faith and establish righteous habits that will stay with us throughout the year. Let us ask Allah, Lord of the worlds, to grant us health, sincerity, and perseverance so that we may fully experience this blessed month and benefit from it.

Let our hearts prepare now to welcome this month of mercy, forgiveness, and spiritual renewal.

Allahumma balighna Ramadan!
